Description

Join DILO's Regional Sales Manager, Chris Barrett, and Steve Skinner from Substation Consulting, LLC for an in-depth look into density monitors on SF6 gas breakers.

Steve Skinner, an industry veteran, joined the T&D Industry in 1977. Steve has worked in installation, commissioning, and maintaining circuit breakers; a technical advisor to the personnel in the field;  a circuit breaker failure investigator. Steve also has extensive experience with on-line monitoring systems. Module 1: This is My Density will cover the relationship of pressure and density, the pros and cons of measuring each measurement and an overview of the difference operation of a pressure gauge and a density monitor.

Chris Barrett is the Regional Manager for the west coast, based at our DILO facility in Portland, OR. He has been a part of the DILO team since 2011, and during his tenure, he has had the privilege of working directly with end-users in the field and at our main service facility in Odessa, FL as a shop technician. Module 2, How to Verify a Density Gauge, covers emission-free verification tools for SF6 and Alternative gas applications. Chris' presentation covers SF6 basics and emission control as well as details on Density Monitor Verification, including unit conversions, safety, and how to operate a DensiControl.

Objectives

The learner will be able to explain the importance of density in gas handling and describe Density Monitor Verification, including unit conversions, safety, and how to operate a DensiControl.
